Welcome to wiki.scriptorium.com.

This wiki offers Scriptorium Publishing's FrameMaker workbooks as online tutorials: you get free training on FrameMaker by completing the exercises in the wiki-based workbooks.

If you prefer, you can buy fully formatted, vetted versions from our online storeexternal link. The commercial versions, which are based on FrameMaker 7 and do not contain updates for later versions, are $49.95 in PDF format (which you download instantly) or $119 for printed spiralbound versions.

What's the difference between the wiki content and the commercial workbooks?

  • The wiki content is free.
  • Wiki content is being updated by the community. It may or may not be accurate.
  • PDF and printed workbooks have much nicer formatting than the wiki content. (see an excerptexternal link from a PDF workbook, 190 KB)
  • Commercial workbooks include video (animated screen shots with voice-over audio) in AVI format to explain key concepts (sample video clipexternal link, 1.2 MB).
  • PDF and printed workbooks include lots of screen shots; the wiki content has minimal graphics.
  • Wiki content is under a Creative Commons license. You can reuse the information as long as you provide attribution.

If you like what you see here but would like a more polished version, you may want the commercial versions from our online storeexternal link. Those versions are about FrameMaker 7 and do not currently contain any of the updates in the wiki.
